Is anyone else annoyed by those watches and phone apps that track your sleep patterns?
I was given a Garmin 920xt watch for my birthday in November, and I started tracking my sleep. At first, I thought it was cool, but I really didn't like wearing a watch to bed at night, so I downloaded a "motion detector" sleep app for my iPhone.
Now I find myself competing in my sleep...literally.

Phew!!! "Competitive Sleeping." I thought you were going to reveal to us the next new collegiate competition activity.

I am very good at sleeping. How do I find a local program of Masters Sleepers.
Sorry, Allen, you can only hold world records in one Masters discipline at a time.
But not so much as I've gotten older. Now I wake up more, can't always fall back to sleep instantly, and don't know how much restorative sleep I'm really getting.
show up for my workout tomorrow at 5:30am...we will fix that!!!
in a pinch you can go swim stroke for stroke with StewartACarrol or PWB and you wont need to worry about sleepingl

I see their workouts on the blog, but didn't realize you were coaching. That would probably set me up for the "Big Sleep"
Competitive Sleeping! Now there's something I could really shine in.
December 1st - 11 hours & 20 minutes with 48 minutes restless
But that may not count, that was a fever assisted sleep.
Saturday January 9th - 10 hours, 54 minutes only 20 minutes restless. I was in bed at 7:34 for that one. That was just plain tired from bumping up my training volume.
Overall I don't compete with my sleep data. It usually just confirms what I already know. And I typically sleep decently enough to not stress over it.
My Moov Now says I got 8:06 hours of sleep last night. 4:30 of that was restorative.
My record is - 9:24 with 5:15 restorative (Sunday morning). Being the first, would it be a Masters Sleepers world record?
My worst - 5:51 with 3:13 restorative (went to bed late and got up at 4:45 for swim practice... ouch)
