Looks like it is to gain 20 minutes of rest before doing the 400 IM.

I say anyone attempting the 1650 and 400 IM back to back deserves some slack.
As I posted earlier, I simply prefer to swim in a heat with other swimmers who have entered "realistic" seed times.
Since seed times shouldn't be taken seriously perhaps everyone should be required to enter NT and be seeded randomly. Then everyone's happy, right?
Probably not...the ironic thing is that sandbaggers generally depend on the very system (reasonably accurate seeding) to achieve their goal in sandbagging, usually to swim with slower people or to manage their timeline. But if everyone did it, then sandbagging doesn't work any more.
I think I might just enter the 800 at Mission Viejo in about 14 minutes. If can swim faster than Gull, would that be sandbagging? I haven't swam the event as a masters swimmer, so there is no time in the database.

I don't ask myself, like the SWIMMER article did, WWGWGD (http://athleticfoodie.com/). We know Garrett wouldn't eat the swedish fish, But, Ryan? Oh, yeah, he'd eat the fish.
