New Englander here with the chance to take a short-notice 3 - 4 day vacation at the end of the month - thinking of creating a quick training trip where I could get in a workout or two a day and enjoy a beer and a bite to eat in the evening, and basically do nothing else.
I'm hoping to find a warm place to go with a reasonably well-structured/coached masters program that allows for drop-ins. Soliciting recommendations on programs that are welcoming to guests with (preferably) outdoor facilities. South Florida is probably better for flight time, but I wouldn't rule out TX, AZ, even SoCal.
Appreciate any advice from the group.
I know our team in Mesa, AZ welcomes guests:

Additionally, you can try the teams at ASU (Sun Devil Masters), the Phoenix Swim Club, and even take a roadtrip to Tucson and swim with the team at the U of A. :applaud:
This sounds like duelling Paridises! Fort Lauderdale also has multiple workouts. 6:00 am, 7:00 am, noon, and 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday. There are two workouts on Saturday....7:00 and 9:00 am. Long course, MWF, and short course Tu, th, and Sat. Can you say doubles? You can also walk a short 200 yards to the ocean for a follow-up if needed. Have a happy unexpected swimming adventure!
The Sarasota Sharks Masters team welcomes all drop-ins, as long as they are USMS members. We have multiple workout times each day - 5:30am, 7:00am, 8:30am, and 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Saturday mornings we have a choice of a pool workout (7:00am) or an open water workout at Siesta Beach (7:30am). Many of us can be talked into a Sunday open water swim, as well.
Siesta Beach was named America's Best Beach for 2011 by Dr. Beach (http://www.drbeach.org/). The water temperature is 67 degrees right now, according to this site.
We swim at the Sarasota YMCA in an outdoor pool built by Myrtha (the same company that is building the pool for the 2012 Olympic Trials in Omaha). Our club web site is here: http://www.sharksmasters.org/
Sarasota has an airport but there are only a couple of airlines that fly into it. The Tampa airport is about an hour and 15 minute drive. The St. Petersburg airport is about an hour away, and the Fort Myers airport is an hour and a half south of here.

We're about in the zone of perfect weather here in Arizona, have a much better & modern hotel / tourism setup than over-crowded FL, zero humidity and Paul Smith. What more could you ask for? If you want to get ambitious, you could hit 3 workouts a day between Mesa, Phoenix Swim Club and ASU.

Fresno > AZ. The guy wants to workout, not do a bunch of kicking and drills.
I took my family to the beach a few years ago and picked Ft. Lauderdale so that I could swim. The group and coaches were friendly and welcoming. Ft. Lauderdale is a nice place to visit too.
The guy wants to workout, not do a bunch of kicking and drills.I'm happy to offer up 3-4 days of Monster workouts and point him to the cheap drop-in rates at the lovely Cactus Aquatic Center (www.scottsdaleaz.gov/.../cactuspool).
Thanks for all the enticing suggestions. It's nice to be wanted, and it will be tough to decide where to take my talents.
Any superlative post-workout watering holes in these locations? Liquid carb replacement is an integral part of my regimen.
