I've been watching and waiting for information regarding Long Course Nationals - particularly hotel information. I finally found a link on the Spire site to USMS hotels. As I began the process, I found this curious statement:
This is a "Stay to Play" tournament.
All teams are required to reserve a hotel room block through
Traveling Teams in order to participate in the tournament.
Does this mean that individuals are prohibited from booking their own rooms? Due to the lack of information, many of us have already booked rooms that meet our personal needs. Can someone clarify?
This was a statement that was in our first proofs of the meet info about hotels. It is no longer accurate and has been taken out of the meet info in Swimmer magazine. Whatever it says on the Spire site does not apply to this meet and you can make your own reservations.
Also, please note ....this is the 2015 Summer nationals ...not 2016. :-)
What are convenient lodging options in the area?
There are also many bed and breakfast type places in "Geneva on the Lake." I know some folks have chosen that option when their kids are swimming at Spire. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the past, and it's a quick jaunt on the highway. That's where I'll be staying this year too.
Thanks, guys. I am now 95% sure that I will make it out to my first Nationals meet this summer (for most likely 2 days), and I must have missed the Swimmer profile/preview. :thewave:

Have you received your May/June SWIMMER magazine yet? I haven't gotten mine yet. Funny thing was I had just went looking for when it would be released and found that article I linked to right before you made your post :)
I went to the Spire website to check for hotels.I tried 3 hotels and all said they had no availability.Any suggestions?
Yeah kinda grim hotel situation. I got one at Residence Inn in Mentor. I think all the locals snapped up any close hotels (only 2 actually).
