I believe this is probably true in both halves of California...

Furthermore, if you entered online and bought your shuttle pass with your entry, it's probably a good idea to bring a copy of your entry confirmation to show proof of your shuttle pass purchase to the driver.
Anyone have any insight on the taxi situation in Santa Clara -- will I be hail a cab at the pool, or is a phone call required?
Santa Clara is pretty suburban, transportation-wise. You will not find circulating cabs to hail the way you might in a major metropolitan downtown. No doubt you can call for one, however.
