Looking for some short axis drills, for technique primarily and strength secondly

BTW, been back in the pool for a couple months, taking it REALLY slow after being laid out for over a year with a back injury. So very grateful to be back in the water :banana:

I think I'm doing something different when I try to do it vertically. We did a few sets today where we did 3 SDKs and then swam the rest of the 25 free. Then we did 5 SDKs and then 7 SDKs. There were a few times where I was about to come up from my SKDs and I was just about underneath the guy in front of me. Obviously, I can get myself going with dolphin kicks when I'm horizontal. I wonder what I'm doing wrong vertically.
