I'm beyond bored swimming on my own. Even though I have started an adult (unofficial Master's) team at my local YMCA, there are MAX, 5 of us....and usually not all at once...Plus we only practice ONCE A WEEK, on Saturday mornings. It's kind of a joke!
Where the heck do I live that I can't find a bunch of GOOD adult competitive swimmers to swim with...ones that want to do some serious workouts even during the week????????????
Sorry. Just venting!:rant3:
If any of you live in Delaware, Maryland or even PA, COME SWIM WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!:wiggle:

sounds creepy all these old people loving swimming with the kids, but i know what you mean. i often do mornings with my old club. im 22 and most of the others are a good 6-8 years younger than me. but you know they love it just as much as i do, them swimming with a senior seems to make them work harder.
they all know who i am coz ive been at the club, oh 17 years now, so i was here when they joined, they all have a subtle respect for me which is good. im a conciencious, hard working type of guy...always listens when the coach talks, never afraid to ask questions. i like to think some of this rubs off on the younger ones (some of whom have a bit too much energy and mess around in the pool). ill encourage and push them as hard as i can too....plus we seem to have some good banter even though some of my comments/jokes fly so far above their heads its not funny (not the sharpest bunch of people to be honest)
its wierd, sometimes the coach can tell someone to stop being lazy and missing out lengths and they wont listen. then when i say "h'away man, lets do this!!!" they go right away.
and of course.... they just cant tolerate an old boy like me whipping them in practice races or sprint sets, so they try extra hard to try put me to shame lol. they easily overshadow me at horribly long sets like 6x400m FC, i just havent got the will or energy for those anymore lol
but i bring it to em in the sprint work!
