Hello
I'm a 24 years old boy. I quit swimming for 5 years ago, after my dad passed away. Now 5 years later, with a arthritis diagnosis in my lower back and knees, now thinking of a comeback.
Before i quit, i dident pay much attention to food and workout on land. I have read a lot about the right food now
So my question is, what types of land workout is it, except in a gym. I'm thinking more of workout based on swimming.
And can i do a succsesfull comeback when i'm 24?

As far as the land workout goes,..I don`t know about that....as far as a successful comeback goes,......to what level were you coming back to?
I started swimming 5 years ago @ age 51,..both my knees are shot, bone on bone in the left, and both knee caps worn out. A doctor told we swimming would be a good exercise that wouldn`t pound my frame. Last week I swim in a 5 mile race in the Pacific Ocean,..I finished 57 out of 60,..there were only 3 people in my age group,..the winner did it in 1 hour 44 minutes....I took 2 hr. and 55 minutes and am EXTREMELY happy that I was able to complete the swim. I HATE swimming in a pool, love the Ocean,..I`m looking to swim around every Pier on the California Coast in the next two years,..without a wetsuit. ...carrying a camera with me and taking a picture of every pier from 200 yards past its end. My wife says I should keep a detailed journal,..but I cannot write well. ( another opportunity to become better at something) We plan on staying in nice hotels and visiting wineries wherever we go. We are going to start at the Imperial Beach Pier on the US Mexican border, and that afternoon the Crystal Beach Pier in Pacific Beach. Labor Day is the 80th Oceanside Pier Swim,,about 400 swimmers round the longest pier on the coast ..1942 feet. We will work our way up the Coast to the Oregon boarder.
I do believe that if you have passion, you can do almost anything. www.ci.imperial-beach.ca.us/index.asp
