How often do you swim

I just started swimming last Friday after 22 years off. I have swam 4 times:applaud:and am pretty happy with myself. I obviously have a long way to go. How many times a week do you need to swim to improve indurance, skill and lose inches and weight. My goal is 4 times a week Katie

    Thanks everyone WOW some of you sure swim a lot. I am not there yet. I hope to committ to 4 times a week until May. I am lucky as I have a gym at work so I do get in there to do some cardio and I love weights. I have some great muscle definition under the flab. Today is Saturday. I went for 5 kilometer bike ride. It was very cold and very very windy so I was out of breath. I will go for a bike ride tomorrow to. I am excited about it all. Though some of my co-workers and friends think I am crazy. HMMMMMMMM they are overweight, smoke and just dont get it. I am 41 and I have the capabilities of being a pretty good swimmer and I want to get into shape and do something for myself so this is it. I had thyroid cancer and just want to get healthy. I am no where near ready to committ to some of your schedules but it is going to be fun to watch you all meet your goals.
