Hello everyone. I am a 39 yr female who would like to swim to get back in shape. Next year our local swimteam will be opening a masters class and I plan to join. I was wondering if there were any basic beginners work out I could do now till the masters class starts sometime in the new year. I was a lifeguard and swim instructor in my teens/20's so I am familiar with all the strokes. Just overweight and have no idea what to do when im swimming laps to start getting conditioned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting your workout. Most workouts I find seem to be for someone much more skilled and advanced than I! I don't do fly, am slow, and almost every workout I look at includes an IM and/or is often near 5000 yards in an hour which I cannot do (by a lonngggg shot). So seeing your workout helps me a lot.
