Our pools were open mid-August until the surge in mid-November. They were only opened then thanks to lobbying by swim coaches and swimmers. Closed now and my local pool says it will not open before 1/1/21 at the earliest. What is happening where you are?
Quite a few Masters programs are open in Austin. Some have been open since late May. Each have protocols in place...some stricter than others. I swim mostly at UT as they opened in September but also go to Austin Swim Club and Western Athletic. Good to have several programs as all require a sign ups and sometimes UT will fill up quickly as they have only 2 per lane, but Austin and Western allow 3-4 per lane now. We are lucky to have many options!
I've heard that both Nitro sites are open as well as Waterloo.
I can't imagine swimming with 3-4 per lane right now. I think I'd leave if there were that many people I didn't know sharing a lane. But then again I'm in a high risk group so I can't fool around.
I always get my own lane at my local pool. I went to Deep Eddy on Christmas eve and there were just 3-4 of us for most of the time I swam.
