The Butterfly Lane

Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train. We SDK off every wall. We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us. Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down What did you do in practice today? the breastroke lane The Middle Distance Lane The Backstroke Lane The Butterfly Lane The SDK Lane The Taper Lane The Distance Lane The IM Lane The Sprint Free Lane The Pool Deck

  • Yes.You can have as many dolphin kicks per pull as you like. The only restriction on the number of kicks is only on breaststroke kick per pull (and that is only legal for masters.)You could just do dolphin kicks and be legal as long as you surface after 15M(I'm not sure if you would have to do at least one pull per length). Unless you had an exception for disability reasons, you'd have to do legal turns and finishes. Paralympian Oksana Khrul swims fly no pull, with her arms in streamline (so she does a legal simultaneous touch). I've just checked her IPC rule exceptions. As I suspected, no relevant ones - so her technique must be FINA legal without them. Watch her WR/gold medal swim in London: www.youtube.com/watch
