I did the 1000 fly today. :applaud:Final time was 15:23. :bow: I don't know the splits but I'm pretty sure it wasn't negative. Here's how it went.
25 yds - Piece of cake! I can do this all day.
200 yds - Not feeling so bad. 500 should be easy.
350 yds - This is a STUPID challenge :chug:
450 yds - 500 fly is a loooong way. I'll just stop there. Most people never even attempt 500 yds of fly. That's good enough.
525 yds - Why didn't I stop? I could have stopped. I can't stop now because no reasonable person would quit on a number of lengths not divisible by 10. Great... that means I'm stuck till 750 yds. :bighug:
750 yds - I hate Elaine. I hate Elaine. I hate Elaine. I hate Elaine. :smooch:
900 yds - Might as well finish now... we do 100 fly in practice all the time!
1000 yds - Not so bad. I bet I could make 1650! :banana:
I was hoping I could hold a 1:30 pace but that didn't happen. Pretty sure I was fine on that through 500 yds. Really started going vertical at times on the second 500.
If I attempted that pace, I would hate me, too! :agree: Holy :censor: ; I can't even swim 1000 free that fast! The last time I tried it I swam it in 16:00. :blush:
