The Butterfly Lane

Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train. We SDK off every wall. We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us. Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down What did you do in practice today? the breastroke lane The Middle Distance Lane The Backstroke Lane The Butterfly Lane The SDK Lane The Taper Lane The Distance Lane The IM Lane The Sprint Free Lane The Pool Deck

Before, when I would swim fly, it was always my shoulders that grew tired and really nothing else. Now, My abs are totally getting a work out and screaming quit before I finish practice but my shoulders dont really feel that tired until my core gives. My shoulders only get tired when my abs are in pain and refuse to work. I'm finding that too. As a kid my arms would give out first, now my arms seem to keep going forever! As far as whether it is correct or not, I have no idea. With this new "core domination" effect I can swim fly much further than ever before, but not very fast. I can also sprint a 50 close to my all time best (just don't ask me to attampt a 100!) So I'd be interested to hear if we're doing it right :)
