  • I finished a one mile fly at the Reston Lake Swim Sunday. It was easier then I thought it would be. Much less stress on the navigation side of the swim. I only hit two people and do that swimming free anyway. My time was 3 min off the pool pace I set. Having gone in to the race with the attitude of just finishing I'm not surprised. Next will be trying it in the Ocean and I'll push it a little more. I'm a little concerned about breathing.. anyone have any tips for that? The race is 100 ids off shore running parallel to it. I look forward to surfing in! Charlie www.warrentonmasters.org/Blog Great job! In the ocean, breathe to the side that faces the oncoming waves, so you know what's coming at you. In the ocean is the only time that I breathe to the side in fly. It feels weird to me in the pool, but since it gives me vital information in the ocean, it feels normal there.
