Nantucket - OWS Freshwater Ponds?

Hi! I will be on Nantucket late this month and want to swim in one of the freshwater ponds. I have read that Miacomet is a good one but have also read that there are snapping turtles (yikes). Does anyone have experience swimming in any of the ponds on Nantucket? Thank you.

Unless they fall in or perhaps had too much to drink at Cisco! :drowning:
  • I hope this is not too late - Head out to the east end of the island - Quidnet. There is a large pond there - Sesachacha. It is not entirely freshwater as they open it to the ocean twice a year. I have swam there many times and have found it to be a great place to get in an open water swim. Enjoy.
