Hello all. Believe I am traveling to Arizona (Tuscon area) third week of July (22nd). Am interested in seeing if I can find an open water event to go along with my Cubs game that week. Any help on where to look up swims for area, etc would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Even though the lakes get hot here in July, it's still worth it to go out. The hottest lake temperature I recorded last summer was 85. When you get out of the water in this dry heat, you feel cold until you dry off. It's fun to shiver when it's 114 degrees out. Canyon Lake, near Apache Junction stays a little cooler than the rest, and it's BEAUTIFUL. You seriously won't believe how beautiful it is. The section of the lake where we swim has a lot of shade. If you decide to go for it, check out the link in my signature for maps. Also, check out this group on Facebook for people to swim with: www.facebook.com/.../
