*threadjack (npi) *
It may be the fact that I grew up and live on the West Coast and never have heard about the river (though I have been to Pittsburgh), but every time I read this thread title I read "2012 Search for Monogamy," which makes me think it should be a tell-all in the NSR section.
*end threadjack*
In a meta-sense, a search for monogamy is not discordant with a search for Monongy, the darling creature that emerged, like Circe, from the Monongahela River one fine summer day and has driven men (and women) nuts since then. O lost, and by the wind grieved, ghost, come back again!
(Etc.)
Pittsburgh's epithet (for Second Coasters) is Three Rivers (sumpin), as the site where Allegheny, Monogahela, and A Third One come together, the fluves doing their thing for effluvia. I'm sure I've left out an h or three. At least you don't have to worry about any of those rivers setting themselves on fire (unlike Clevelanders; anybody remember the Cuyahoga spontaneously combusting?).
The swag and free food for the event are listed on the Facebook site (how, like, last Tuesday!), linked in the first post.
Let the floodgates open and the multitudes crush and trample in their haste to sign up for this season's high-fashion notable event!
