I am starting to build my long swims from about two miles today, targeting a 10K swim in October. At about what rate would you all suggest I increase the distance of my long swims? Thanks.
On a side note, I wish we had more snow in VT this year
You can have the snow here in WI! Which isn't that much this year anyway... early OW season?
BTW, any ideas how much of your yardage should be pool vs. open water in preparation for 10k to 10 mile OWS? Obviously, our OW season is a lot shorter here...
FYI, on the workout sections of this web page is now a section for marathon open water swimming workouts posted by Mallory Mead. I would offer a suggestion that you post your questions on her workout page, I am sure she would be very helpful and have some good suggestions for you. If not, let me know and I will get after her.... I am her father.....
Thanks; I peek in on those workouts every now and again... even trying to incorporate some of her kick series drills; I'm not good about that kind of stuff... I just like to jump in and swim, but I'm getting to the point where I need to work on my skills in a more deliberate way to make any more improvement.

Hoosier, you got a great daughter there. I love her workouts and she's very responsive to questions.
Warning to others though: You can't just post a thread in the workout sections; that is for the coaches only. But you can remark on one of her posts, so I suggest that.
Good luck to Mallory on that 88K OW swim this weekend. Can't think about driving that far...
