The folks at Pensacola Race Management said that they were going to put on a 25k swim to go along with their 5k and 10k. (www.3milebridgeswim.org) They've announced the date of their swim, and said that they were taking ideas and drawing up maps, but their website hasn't been updated since June. I know that the race is 8 months away or so, but I'm curious if anyone has heard anything. This is one of my big targets for next season.

They have stated, or at least did at one point, that it would be an escorted swim, and that swimmers were responsible for finding their escort kayaks. They haven't yet announced a course. I sent them a proposal (they said they were taking some), but they haven't responded to any emails, nor updated their website since June.
The 10k was just an out and back, and that was enjoyable enough. 3 more passes of the bridge? I'm not sure I'd like that too much.
I am hoping, though, that the 25k goes off. Living in Baton Rouge, it's close enough to make it relatively convenient.
