I will be joined by 9 heavy hitters for this 2010 NYCSWIM finale.
they are predicting a little weather for saturday in these parts so the course direction has been changed and the start time will now be 4:45 AM (thats right folks.... darkness, wind and waves! what could be a better way to wrap up the season)

And in 3 different parts of the country! All my friends will be out of town this weekend!
:)
Isn't there a Thanksgiving splash for CIBBOWS?
veterans day..... november 6!
This Swim the Suck looks interesting. I'm no ten-miler this year (would have been last year). I'll be interested in finding how that went in prep for a possible swimming of said suck in 2011.
4 inch waves! 80 degree water!
Only the strong survive!
I believe it's on the 17th, so one could take part in one of these other events then take a flight to the tropics.
I've done the swim twice and I swear the waves were 12-18 inches and the water was 79. To make up for the hardship there's beer at the finish line :)
Hey chaos, isn't Veteran's Day the 11th? 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month...that kinda thing. ;)
could be, but here is the race info:

... holy crap that was a hard swim
Couldn't agree more; it felt closer to 30. The organizers did a great job, though, marking the course and making the in-and-outs as smooth and painless as possible.
I survived the 12.6 mile Distance Swim Challenge in LA... holy crap that was a hard swim

Good job Rob. I volunteered at the start and introduced myself, but didn't want to intrude on your pre-race planning. Loved the report. It was kind of weird, being a point to point, we sent you all off, never to be seen again (at least in Manhattan Beach)
