Liquids lost swimming in hot water distance swim?

Given water is 87 degrees Given air is 90 degrees Distance 2 miles Time swimming time around 50 min. How much fluid will be lost (sweat)? Anyone want to hazard a guess? I am thinking 3 pints? = 3 pound... I plan to weigh myself prior to and after the race. Results should be interesting.

  • Yes to having a pint. We are about to have a week with two days of 100 degree temps and the rest 95ish At what temp does it become dangerous to whom? Keep in mind 2 miles swimming at 10:30am I have swum Alkatraz several times and discovered that drinking Luke warm liquids instead of warm worked better. Taking cloths off several min before race to acclimate to air temp helped. Ear plugs double capping. But that's for cold water. Besides lots of liquid, How about caffeine? Should the beer be cold or at room temp?
