Liquids lost swimming in hot water distance swim?

Given water is 87 degrees Given air is 90 degrees Distance 2 miles Time swimming time around 50 min. How much fluid will be lost (sweat)? Anyone want to hazard a guess? I am thinking 3 pints? = 3 pound... I plan to weigh myself prior to and after the race. Results should be interesting.

  • I think I lose 3 pints of sweat sitting in 90 degree weather for 50 minutes. . . Seriously, there is one Y indoor pool that I occasionally have to train at due to schedules, etc. It is always between 87 and 90 in temp. The ambient temp is about 72. If I train for an hour, I easily lose 3 pints in the training and maybe an additional pint afterwards as I sweat for up to an hour after getting out. It takes me all day to rehydrate.
