The five villages of Cinque Terre, Italy - from Riomaggiore to Monterroso (or vice versa). It's about a 10K, I think. I was there a few years ago and swam from Vernazza to Monterroso (a much faster mode of travel than hiking, as it turned out). It was such a gorgeous swim that I decided, if I ever returned, I'd do the whole thing. If it could be considered "overseas"... the Na Pali Coast of Kauai (~16 miles) would be another tremendous swim -- in the summer months, at least (gets pretty wild in winter). It's quite commonly kayaked, but I haven't heard of anyone swimming it. OMG Cinque Terra is beautiful! I visited a long time ago but didn't swim.
