this will be my first 10k and I want to know what others have done to train, my training right now is 2 swims a week each a 3miles, then 2 a week each time I swim 7miles. I also do some weight lifting to for the arms. The other question is the race said you need to have a feeder. So how should I train the person that is doing the feedings, Do the feeding stations get crowed? then is the best time to feed, during how many miles. If any one has any info to give me I would be so happy!

Chaos what were you thinking besides sports drinks for feeding ?I really want to know if there is somthing I could actully eat while swimming. i personally like to feed quickly... that means liquid. the act of tearing open a gel pack requires more time than i like to stop for; still, i'll take a couple along on swims over 5k "just in case". i know others that like to mix things up. oatmeal, marshmallows, bananas, cookies, m&m's, crackers and even potato chips have been used by friends of mine on long swims. play around with some different things on your training swims to see what works best for you.
