I signed up to swim the Governor's Island swim in NYC this summer. Has anybody done it? Anybody planning on it this year? I am trying to ease myself into more open water swimming and this seemed like a good one and interesting (although getting there early in the morning might be rough).
I am open to suggestions of other moderately difficult northeast swims this summer -- they have to be on Sundays though, for a variety of reasons.

To get the topic back to your original post: I plan on doing the Governors Island swim in August. I'm a triathlete and in training for Ironman Arizona. Although I live in Boise, Idaho, I'll be back in NJ/NY visiting family when the swim is happening. I'm really looking forward to it. (I am waiting to sign up until my wife gets her 2-mile pool swim (ugh)) certified. We both plan on doing it.
