OW swim start question

going from a beach start out to the first buoy with 2-3 ft waves coming in, what is your method of getting through the the first 25-50 yds of shallow water + waves? thanks

vancouver. just found out we may have dive from a platform/dock:eek: how do you dive without ripping your goggles off? or should i just jump in?
