In looking at the results of the National 10k, it seems like the times are considerably slower than what would be expected. Any info on what happened? Rough conditions? Long course? Currents?

The course was an inverted triangle, the part that was perpendicular to the beach is claimed to have been into a tidal current. Not sure how much of the issue was current and how much was simply a long course.
Many seemed to think it took about an hour longer than they expected. I would agree with that.
