I tried my hand at open water swimming last year. I participated in the hermosa to Manhattan beach swim. i hope to do more this year.
I know there are always people to swim with at the hermosa guard tower, but are there other locations to hook up and swim with people you don't know?
What about lakes?

In Sept of last year, i joined an informal group at the guard tower south of the pier Hrm Bch. It appears from this thread, it's a regular thing.
