Feed stick

Does anyone have any clever ideas for the design of a feed stick for longer races? I've used a small aluminum pot on the end of a broomhandle in the past, but it's a bit short/small and not great if the water is rough. Also, ideally I'll have my bottle(s) attached by string to the stick so I can drink from them and then drop them, but what to do about things like pills (e.g. seasickness pills)? Any other thoughts appreciated. -LBJ

OK- thanks. I'm fortunate enough to live 1/2 mile from a beach, so I've been trying to get out there as much as possible, in addition to my pool workouts. i felt like a wimp asking, actually, but with the heat index hovering in the high 90s, I thought that I should definately stay hydrated and wanted the opinions of the OW pantheon of gods and goddesses ;) Having said that, I make sure that I've drunk enough watered-down gatorade before I jump in the sea, but I just wanted to make sure that I was doin' the 'right' thing.
