On advice of a friend I started tracking my year to date yardage this year as a motivator to get the pool as often as possible, and to try to hit 1 million yards for the year. I've never done this in the 35 or so years I've been swimming but so far its been working pretty good; I'm 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
anyone else keep track of their yardage through out the year?
I'm lucky my son has swimming lessons in the evening 5 days a week now for the next two weeks so I can do doubles every day (I usually swim mornings) which should add up nicely. (usually do 4k yards in the morning, 2.5k or so during his 45 min lesson). I know my 3 week trip to Florida is going to derail me a little bit but am trying to plan some workouts while I am down there. Either way I hope to be around 80k ahead of plan by that point.
I will sign up for GTD probably for 2012. need to renew my USMS membership first, haven't done enough meets of late to make it worthwhile.
