Hit 500k yds yesterday

On advice of a friend I started tracking my year to date yardage this year as a motivator to get the pool as often as possible, and to try to hit 1 million yards for the year. I've never done this in the 35 or so years I've been swimming but so far its been working pretty good; I'm 2 weeks ahead of schedule. anyone else keep track of their yardage through out the year?

  • I started tracking my yardage in 2008. But the GTD challange has really motivated me to actually set a goal. GTD Progress 42.91% (I should be at 45.2%) 213.29 miles swum (375,383 yards/ 343,250meters) I've changed my goal twice. started at 800km and then dropped to 725km when i started thinking about the summer and 3 tappers, but it's back to 800km because I'm going to have more time to swim in the lake than I thought. if I had kept my 725km goal i would be roughly 9miles ahead of goal, but the 800km goal I am after today roughly 13miles behind. in two weeks I plan on swimming double more normal distance for one week and will get an extra 20 miles which should get me back on track. Hoping to reach my goal before Christmas so I can take a week off with the family ;)
