On advice of a friend I started tracking my year to date yardage this year as a motivator to get the pool as often as possible, and to try to hit 1 million yards for the year. I've never done this in the 35 or so years I've been swimming but so far its been working pretty good; I'm 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

anyone else keep track of their yardage through out the year?
art_z,
To join the Go the Distance listings, you first need to create a "MyUSMS" account and then begin recording your yardage in your FLOG (Fitness Log).
Pages 6 and 7 of this document show how to set up your MyUSMS account:
www.usms.org/.../usms_create_forums_acct.pdf
When you set up your FLOG you may want to enter your year's total yards to date. You can just enter the total yardage all in one day, on the day you create the account. You don't have to go back day by day and enter it individually.
You do have to be a USMS member to have a FLOG.
