ARE you going?
What suit are you going to rock in your races? TIPS
One of the masters swimmers I train with went to Auburn,
this morning I asked him
"How do you get to Auburn?"
He said fly into Atlanta then drive 2 hours to Auburn.
He added if you do this, one thing you want to be aware of is
Atlanta is on Eastern Time & Auburn is on Central time
so when you drive from:
Atlanta to Auburn you subtract an hour &
Auburn to Atlanta you add an hour.
Good luck to all heading to Auburn: travel safely, swim fast, have fun and clear the roadways for Kurt Dickson to zoom out of there after his 400 ;)
For those of you (like me) not able to be in Alabama and still looking for a season-ending meet, consider these coastal options:
West coast: SPMA Champs/Southwest Zones (8/12-14) - www.clubassistant.com/.../meet_information.cfm
East coast: Terrapin Cup (8/20-21) -- www.clubassistant.com/.../meet_information.cfm
Be there tomorrow afternoon to swim a bit since I have the 800 Wednesday morning. I'll try to post up on the pool, set-up, etc maybe tomorrow evening once I get settled in at the hotel.
So, is the lack of activity on the boards Re: Nationals due to the 'smaller than average' number of participants, or the absence of several formites specifically?I blame it all on Kurt Dickson -- everyone wasted all of their posting energy on that sandbagging post.
So, is the lack of activity on the boards Re: Nationals due to the 'smaller than average' number of participants, or the absence of several formites specifically? The meet is this week and very little chatter. I don't have anything of substance to add. Not in very good swimming shape and not taking my races very seriously. But looking forward to hanging out with friends! I think I'm bringing Bocce and 'corn hole' to while away the hours. Maybe we can have a tournament behind the pool!
True, there isn't much activity, probably from a lack of gridge participants.
I just got to Auburn and I am excited.I do have one comment that perhaps should go in swim rant instead:I very carefully taper and my muscles seem well recovered, then I hike what seems like 2 miles toting my carry on bag at the Atlanta airport and my legs are tight and leaden again:cane:.

Go loosen them up in the pool!
I'm excited too, despite not having any active gridges. Very happy that my first age up meet in LCM is in Auburn -- sprinter territory. :)

Hey Craig! I'll be there and I'm looking forward to seeing you again.
Good luck in your races!
