ARE you going?
What suit are you going to rock in your races? TIPS
One of the masters swimmers I train with went to Auburn,
this morning I asked him
"How do you get to Auburn?"
He said fly into Atlanta then drive 2 hours to Auburn.
He added if you do this, one thing you want to be aware of is
Atlanta is on Eastern Time & Auburn is on Central time
so when you drive from:
Atlanta to Auburn you subtract an hour &
Auburn to Atlanta you add an hour.

So, is the lack of activity on the boards Re: Nationals due to the 'smaller than average' number of participants, or the absence of several formites specifically? The meet is this week and very little chatter. I don't have anything of substance to add. Not in very good swimming shape and not taking my races very seriously. But looking forward to hanging out with friends! I think I'm bringing Bocce and 'corn hole' to while away the hours. Maybe we can have a tournament behind the pool!
Pretty sure this is the most cutting edge pool I have been able to swim in ever.
I already posted other stuff on the Nationals page but wanted to let you know we made the first Gatorade run tonight.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE
US NATIONALS SWIMMERS!
Everyone's favorite sandbagger Kurt Dickson gets some bonus anti-sandbagging points for swimming less than three seconds off his seed time in the 800 today. Nice swim, Kurt!

Meet directors don't like breakthrough performances? I like seeing big drops in time. Everyone hitting their seed times would make for a very boring meet, indeed.

I was sort of kidding. And besides, we all know not everybody puts down accurate seed times anyway, so big drops in time don't necessarily mean breakthrough performances. Just think if our favorite sandbagger got away with his original seed time - people would have thought he was on his way to breaking Biedermann's world record as he lapped the field in the first 150...!
It's just that so often swimmers make evaluations on a meet based on whether the meet got ahead of the timeline or not (as in the meet director did a great job when the meet got ahead of schedule but must have been incompetent when the meet was behind schedule). Sometimes it has to do with meet personnel or timing system malfunctions, but when swimmers are way off their seed times and the timeline suffers as a result, it is certainly to no fault of the meet director.
Good Luck!
Swim fast!
Have fun! &
Drink beer with your friends.
