will once again be held at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 2008 Trials set a new standard for swimming excitement and 2012 promises to bring even more poolside thrills to America's Heartland.
Check back often for updates as we draw closer to naming the team that will represent the United States in the pool at the London Olympic Games.

Rowdy Gaines’ familiar voice will be on the airwaves soon at Olympic Trials, and then in London. The gold-medal Olympian thinks these Trials, and Games, will be among the most exciting ever, and he shares his insights in this week’s 20 Question Tuesday.

Here’s hoping that one of more of you have the swims of your lives and are not able to make Masters Nationals, because you need to stay with the USA Olympic Team. I’m sure we can work a deal to reimburse you for your Masters Nationals entry fee.
Who do you think will surprise the most at Trials?
A few names I'll add: Anthony Ervin, Katie Ledecky, Kevin Cordes. Yeah, the women's 200 fly and the men's 50 free are two races where I have no idea what is going to happen.
Who do you think will surprise the most at Trials?
Outside of the obvious people (Franklin, Phelps, Lochte, Coughlin, Vollmer, Adrian etc), obvious strong events, and obvious storylines (men 100 free relay etc) here are the people and events I'm most interested to see at trials:
Ricky Berens: 1:45 is a definite possibility for him. He's been looking good in the last few meets. A relay spot seems assured, but just how fast can he go?
Matt Grevers: a shot at redemption for an all around cool guy (I know people who know him). It's not going to be easy, the US is so deep in backstroke. He'll probably make the team in the 200, the 100 is a crapshoot. Could he get a prelim relay spot in the 4x100 free?
The men's 50: I have no idea who going to show up and swim well. The US needs someone to step up with a 21 low/mid, is Adrian capable? Who is the second qualifier going to be?
Caitlin Leverenz: she's almost certainly going to post a big time in the 400 IM. She's such a fascinating swimmer to watch with such a bizarre combination of strengths. Every aspect of her race has become more polished and competant in the past 12 months. Can she beat Beisel?
The women's 200 IM: so many strong competitors. I have no idea how it's going to go. 2:08 mid to make the team?
Breeja Larson: can she take down Hardy or Soni in the 100 ***? Unlikely but possible. Larson's a total wild card.
Men's 200 ***: can the US put two guys at 2:08 mid/low? It's possible although a bit unlikely. How surprising would that be?
Kate Zeigler: everyone seems to have forgotten about her on the world stage. I'd love to see her step up in the 800 and put herself back in the hunt for a medal.
Ryan Murphy: total longshot in the 200 back, but so much talent and only 16 years old. He almost certainly won't make the team, but he probably will continue to drop time like the age-grouper he is.
David Nolan: maybe not so much a "dark horse" and there's basically no way he's going to make the team, but I really like the guy in interviews and his freshman year at Stanford definitely lived up to the hype (even though he didn't swim faster than he had in HS). I just want to see how he handles a really big meet for the first time in his life.
Women's 200 fly: The US honestly needs to drop at least 2 seconds from their times this year. Can Adams drop even more? Hersey looked good at the Duel, can she post a fast time? This event is wide open.
A few names I'll add: Anthony Ervin, Katie Ledecky, Kevin Cordes.I don't hold out much hope for Ervin despite the fact that he's a fascinating guy. I can't believe I forgot Ledecky and Cordes. Cordes is a local kid for me, I'll be watching with much interest. His coach has said that he's better at LCM than SCY (!). Ledecky is also exciting.
