Let's talk swim strokes.

I get tired of reading what I call silly posts. I would rather read about stroke technique, and east swim workout ideas. Being an older person I do not want to over work out. I would rather talk stroke, stroke, stroke. I do not want to die trying to be fast fast, fast.

This General Swimming-Related Discussions forum covers "Any swimming-related topics not covered in one of the other top level topics". Maybe the Workouts forum would be more to your liking? Yes, discussion does tend to drift off topic. Sometimes that's OK. Better to have an active message board than to have a board nobody posts to. There's plenty here to choose to read; and plenty to ignore.

They love to talk about stroke, stroke, stroke and not necessarily about fast, fast, fast. :)

  • Recommendation re breaststroke kic., Never swim that silly stroke it could be injurious to your wellbeing. :thhbbb:  :shakeshead: :mooning: :bitching: :censor: (Hey, That Guy, did I miss any appropriate ones here?) Fellow FROGS, that goes for you, too! Feel free to chime in with an appropriate Smilie! And, for all you anti-FROGS, feel free to NOT respond!! :bolt: Cheers! :chug:
  • (Hey, That Guy, did I miss any appropriate ones here?) They're all appropriate. I think relevancy is the issue here. That never stopped me before though...:cane::fish2::popcorn::oldman::hijack::whiteflag:

I knew I could count on you (relevant or not)! Although, I think :hijack: is a relevant one, considering what we just did. :bolt:
  • Hi George, do you know if Jammers by Yangfa will come in size 38 ? They list a XXXL - but do not list a size with it>
  • You should also visit the TI discussion forum then. They love to talk about stroke, stroke, stroke and not necessarily about fast, fast, fast. :) Has George become a triathlete in his dotage? :bolt: Methinks George is trying to provoke some "silliness" with his open ended rant. If you have a specific topic regarding the broad category of stroke technique, why not start with that? I'll start. Not that I'm willing to devote any time to changing it at the moment, but is it possible to improve one's breaststroke kick? And, if so, how? That's the weakest element of any of my strokes.

There are a lot of magazines that discuss technique. The American Swimming Coaches Association, USA Swimming, and Swimming Technique are great magazines. If you'd like a forum, this forum is great when you get to know some of the coaches. Many threads will have good information mixed in with some personal nonsense but it's up to you to separate the two. I'd buy the Science of Swimming by Doc Counsilman and Ernies second book for starters. Good Luck, Coach T.
