The next Canadian Masters Swimming Championships will be held 5/20/2011 to 5/23/2011 in Montreal. I believe it will be SCM.
Unfortunately the Masters Swimming Canada site has very little information on the meet as yet. I would like to correspond with someone who knows more details, including venue, which events are on which dates, event order, etc.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I swam in the 2009 CA championships that were held in Toronto (along with Glen, Bill, Karlyn, Don and the infamous Gail Roper). I would not worry about pool measurement and time submission to USMS and FINA. Our Canadian counterparts are competent and will do due diligence (en.wikipedia.org/.../Due_diligence) in terms of submitting times and completing the right forms. They ran a great meet!
Besides Gail Roper, I had the chance to see Jaring Timmerman swim the 50 free in 77.12 seconds (1:17.12) - 22.88 seconds faster than his age. Very cool!
Bonne chance mon ami!
J'espère que c'est vrai.
However, I have heard that sometimes they don't measure and, if they don't, our times wouldn't count for USMS purposes. I am going to confirm in advance with the meet director that they will measure the pool and sign this form: www.usms.org/.../gto_rectab_pool_measurement.pdf. I don't want to travel and not have my times count!
It really does sound like a great meet.
