The next Canadian Masters Swimming Championships will be held 5/20/2011 to 5/23/2011 in Montreal. I believe it will be SCM.
Unfortunately the Masters Swimming Canada site has very little information on the meet as yet. I would like to correspond with someone who knows more details, including venue, which events are on which dates, event order, etc.
Any ideas? Thanks!

I could have swore it was in LCM? Too lazy to look it up. I heard that it is a good meet to do.

I heard that it is a good meet to do.I considered going to the meet last May when it was in BC and it was LCM (www.cmsc2010.ca/index.htm) so I would imagine the 2011 meet will be LCM ... but you never know what those wacky Canucks will be up to.:canada:
Any ideas? Thanks!
They probably just don't plan as far in advance as we do. I happen to be going to Montreal this weekend and the friend I'm staying with is a Masters swimmer, so I will ask him if he knows more.
I think they might alternate between short course and long course. I know the 2009 meet was short course. Since the meet is in Montreal, just remember that butterfly in French is "papillon" and you're all set. :)

Last year (2010) we had a couple people from Inland NW go to the meet and it was LCM. I can't go though, because I need a passport to get back home!

it is too bad that USMS can't alternate Spring Nationals between Yards and SCM.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe there is a rule against a facility doing nationals in the spring as SCM
You are totally right. Of course, I don't see a real SCM Nationals happening in the near future. It would be cool to do a Spring Nationals in SCM just to change things up.
I wonder how many facilities could actually support two 25 meter courses, though? There are certainly some that could, but I have a feeling there are others that aren't quite long enough. For example, I think the Texas pool is 50 meters long and the bulkheads are lowered from overhead when short course (yards) is required. The pool has to be more like 52 meters long to support 2x25 meter courses, unless the pool is 25 meters wide.

Maybe it's time for SPMA to host Nationals?
