The next Canadian Masters Swimming Championships will be held 5/20/2011 to 5/23/2011 in Montreal. I believe it will be SCM.
Unfortunately the Masters Swimming Canada site has very little information on the meet as yet. I would like to correspond with someone who knows more details, including venue, which events are on which dates, event order, etc.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I know, I love Montreal!
That sounds great. I was just asking because I know that results haven't always been submitted to USMS in the past. Glad the pool will be to "spec," but that doesn't exactly answer whether it will be measured. As you may be aware, USMS guidelines on this issue are different than Canadian guidelines. USMS won't accept times without a pool measurement as outlined in the Guide to Operations.
I'm sure there will be great competition.
I swam in the 2009 CA championships that were held in Toronto (along with Glen, Bill, Karlyn, Don and the infamous Gail Roper). I would not worry about pool measurement and time submission to USMS and FINA. Our Canadian counterparts are competent and will do due diligence (en.wikipedia.org/.../Due_diligence) in terms of submitting times and completing the right forms. They ran a great meet!
Besides Gail Roper, I had the chance to see Jaring Timmerman swim the 50 free in 77.12 seconds (1:17.12) - 22.88 seconds faster than his age. Very cool!
Bonne chance mon ami!
