  • Good swims by Geek and Kurt Dickson in the 200 back. • Do they do flyover starts in masters? I'd imagine not but had to ask anyway :) Yes, they are doing flyovers at this meet.

Especially considering he spent all day yesterday in airports and didn't get into Phoenix until 2:30 am east coast time. 50 fly times in my age group were much slower this year. The winning time of 27.8 wouldn't even have made the top ten last year. More confirmation for my theory that the suits helped the short axis strokes relatively more.
  • Here's one that's copy-paste worthy: Event 6 Women 60-64 400 Yard IM ================================================================== NATL: N 5:27.07 5/21/2010 CHARLOTTE DAVIS Name Age Team Seed Finals ================================================================== 1 Davis, Charlotte M 61 PNA 5:27.00 5:20.51N 33.42 1:10.47 (37.05) 1:52.45 (41.98) 2:33.51 (41.06) 3:21.05 (47.54) 4:09.04 (47.99) 4:46.08 (37.04) 5:20.51 (34.43) 2 Guthrie, Sally K 61 MICH 6:22.79 6:28.40 I felt compelled to include second place to show how dominant Charlotte's swim was. She beat her own record by over six seconds and beat the second place swimmer in her age group by over one minute! :bow:

Definitely intimidating to the competition.

    He didn't get there in time and just missed his heat. :( Unfortunate. He did just post a nice 50 Fly time, good for 2nd place.

    My :2cents::2cents::2cents::2cents: is bet on the fact that the 50 Fly was an hour or so afterward. :) Not a good excuse IMO. If you pay the money to sign up for the event, train for it, you might as well hop in a swim it too. Why does it matter to any of us what Ande's reason(s) for missing the event are? If he purposefully missed it to save up for an event or if it was by accident, who are we to judge him? This is his meet, he can swim or not swim the events he wants too.
