  • Good to see videos of the 2 races thank you Ande do you have any more. I've got a few videos I'll try to post when I get time.
  • To Rich Abrahams, Jeff Commings, Kirk Nelson, Skip Thompson, and Poolrat This reminds me I never did get to talk to Rich. I spoke with everyone else you mentioned at least briefly... Technique, physique, or a combination of the two. My take is that suitlessness has less effect on people who are strong kickers and/or have good body position (including streamlines) and/or have a more streamlined profile. Possibly. I'm not a good kicker, but I think my profile is fairly streamlined. I don't have a belly, anyway. I have a feeling the legskin suits helped me a lot more than I'd like to admit. I swam very well in Austin, for example, with Speedo FS Pro legs. Going back to jammers set me back much more than just to "pre B70" days. OTOH I think--for me at least--there was a lot more going on than just the suit change. In the 500 free I was 18 seconds slower than Clovis. I suspect I just didn't rest quite enough. That's what I'm hoping, anyway!

  • Here are some videos from Nationals: James Adams 100yd Butterfly: Thanks Elaine...I was missing this video from my events. I think Patrick said he had my 200 Free recorded as well. I doubt anyone recorded my 100 back...the video would have been so long that their batteries would've died in the process!!
  • OK, here's the first video I uploaded. This is the PNA 25+ mixed medley relay. We ended up seventh. I'm swimming fly. Check out Haleigh Werner's anchor leg in particular. Holy turnover! Haleigh had a real breakthrough meet and plans to swim the USMS 25K open water next month. Can you believe someone who can swim a 50 like that can also do a 25K? That's versatility. YouTube - PNA 25+ mixed medley relay (lane 1) Remember to watch the 1080p version for your maximum viewing pleasure :) I found out uploading a 1080p video to Youtube takes a while! A two and a half minute video is close to 1GB in size.

A two and a half minute video is close to 1GB in size. My relay won that heat in a national record time! The camera caught about one second of each of our swimmers in lane six. You can hear me cheering in the freestyle like a madman. As for your freestyler's turnover ... that is impressive. Most open water swimmers tend to swim open water races with high turnover. This helps their body temp stay high and they can fight the waves a little better.
  • Thanks you have caught some nice swims. Most definitely. Good job, Elaine!
  • The camera caught about one second of each of our swimmers in lane six. Your team obviously just swam too darn fast. Slow it down a little next time.
