:afraid:Wow, Phelps is sure lucky Oussama is not swimming the 200 FR at Michigan. He sure got handled on that last 50 of the 200IM. Very sad to see him in this condition 90 days out from travel to Shanghai..:badday:
  • Another Micheal Phelps related video that is hilarious... Some guys did an experiment with the calorie intake that Phelps reportedly consumes, to see if they too can become Olympic champion caliber swimmers. YouTube - Michael Phelps 12,000 Calorie Diet Test by Fat Guy Nation

He was interviewed after the 100 back. Rowdy asked him about his 4th place in the 200 fly. "The 200 was something I had coming, I think, for awhile. You can only get past with not doing enough training for so long...."

17 yr. old Jasmine Tosky showed plenty game: 1st in 200fly, 2nd in 200free, 3rd in 200IM. While we're at it, shoutouts to the Cal girls, Dana Vollmer, 1st in 100free, outtouching Natalie, who took 1st in 100back. Must be some very competitive practices going on at Cal Aquatics.
  • I annoyed at Universal Sports for cutting out the 1500. It is total discrimination against distance events. Yet, it was online and no commerical breaks. Frayler from Germantown Academy had a really good race. I think that he went 15:18?? Gosh, I can't wait to do my first 1500 of the LCM season.

Phelps looked pretty good in the 100 free though. He nearly came back on Cielo. Cielo looked like he was gonna have a heart attack too after the finish laying all over the lane lines huffing and puffing. Phelps is no wear near starting to rest for a meet so its to be expected that he will swim a bit up and down, even for him. Him, and Lochte, will be amazing once rested and shaved, just watch.

Any thoughts on what you want to see in future stops? I'm hoping to see Missy Franklin really throw it down in the 100 back and fight a spot on the medley relay at Worlds. (Franklin, Soni, Vollmer, Coughlin would have a nice ring to it) I want to see what Dax Hill can do- 6'8", huge natural athletic talent, and a second place at NCAAs in only his second year of swimming year round because he was spending half the year in high school being a D1 level basketball player. I want to see if Breeja Larson's huge improvements short course this year carry over to long course, and if she's going to make the London breaststroke slots even more competitive.
