I've run out of superlatives, I have no idea what to say anymore. Looking forward to Omaha.

in Sunday's 50 fr & 100 bk mens prelims hidden among the younger fast swimmers, you'll find that 50 year old Steve Wood is back at it and in great form.
50 Fr
52nd out of 123
Wood, Steve C 50 Fort Worth Area- 22.43 22.21 SECT+
100 bk
64th out of 129
Wood, Steve C 50 Fort Worth Area- 55.38 53.88 SECT
25.99 53.88 (27.89)
His 100 bk time broke the men's 50 to 54 100 bk scy USMS National Record held by
Richard F Kammerer 05-23-10 55.80 by nearly 2 seconds!
* Note Steve wore a textile jammer and Richard wore a full body B70
Way to go Steve!
you certainly made that record harder for the next guy.
Phelps got DQed in the 200 *** prelim.
He never swam the event. His lane was empty when his heat when off. He might have not declared a scratch and so that is why there is a DQ by his name. I wanted to see what he could do in this event.
If he had held at 29-high on his third and fourth 50's, he would have won the race. 6.31 difference between 100's is not good (though not a piano).
4 Phelps, Michael 25 North Baltimore- 1:59.81 1:57.79 OLT
25.99 55.74 (29.75)
1:26.54 (30.80) 1:57.79 (31.25)
Phelps has a history of following bad races with good ones. Sure enough he won the 100 backstroke with a pool record.

Interesting. He was entered in but never swam the 200 *** at the last Grand Prix meet he went to, too. What's the strategy here?
edit: Phelps takes 4th in 200 fly, Clary takes 3rd.... what the heck?
I just can't figure out what happened, though... if there's one race in swimming that is Michael Phelps's signature event, it's gotta be the 200 fly.
I could see 2nd place... but FOURTH?!
What happened?!?!
It is called working his hump off at practice as opposed to slacking off(for Phelps) last year. At Indy, he just came off some high altitude training.
