Regarding the men's 50 free- what do the asterisks represent next to the seed times (under WR)? Are these converted times? I see Lochte is swimming the 50 as well.

Swimmers are crazy fast in this meet
very exciting
Phelps won the 200 fly tonight, but by only .5 sec.
I'm thinking this may be the closest margin of victory by Phelps in the 200 fly long course.
Is this true?
I know there are several of you with a better minds for these kind of stats, so I welcome other people's 2 cents/knowledge when it comes to this stuff-
thank you.

I thought he would have been faster considering he went 51.75 with a lazy finish and did the fastest 200 free in the world this year.
I'm really glad that Phelps isn't having a crisis of motivation like a lot of people were writing on the swim news websites and blogs, etc... it's amazing that he's able to tap into yet more motivation to swim this fast. Either he's really, really motivated or altitude training is just that good for racing. Probably both!
Phelps was on fire with my prelim 100 free.
24.09 49.41 (25.32)
First American under 50:00 this year.
Mellouli's 400 free was insane last night
