  • Jim, Rich did swim the 50 and 100 last year, but at the RonJohnson meet in Arizona, not at Long Beach. He went 25.16 in the 50 in '09 versus 25.8 this year at LB. That is 2.5% slower. His 100 free was 57.37 last year and at 58.68 was 2.3% slower. My own 50 and 100 free was similar in percent that I went slower this year with the jammer versus last year with the B70. So, yes, I think the difference in time is the suit. Besides Rich, Jim Mcconica, Charlotte Davis and Frank Piemme all aged up and set World and or US records. There were several others who set records who were in the middle of their age group, namely Steve West (38) in the breastroke, Rita Simonton (92), Matt Scanlon (23), and Dawn Heckman (33).
