If you google either of these, you get several potential medical causes for each.
I, myself have had Laryngospasms, but only during intense backstroke sets, never with any of the other strokes. I never have complete closure of the airway, it just feels like one or two cords are "out of place" and hurts a bit when swallowing. Usually, a brief massage of the affected area of the larynx does the trick for me. Than I lighten up for a few repeats and get back to it!
