1. You open the door to the pool and get that first whiff of chlorine and think to yourself, "I love the smell of chlorine in the morning!"
2. Your new issue of Swimmer Magazine arrives :bliss: and you immediately sit down and read it cover to cover (including the ads!). But, then, the realization sets in that now you have to wait two months until the NEXT issue arrives.
3. You find yourself counting strokes instead of sheep to fall asleep at night. Then, just when you're about to fall asleep, instead of your leg twitching a little bit, it does a full whip kick :afraid:, and you ride the glide to slumberland... :bed:
Now it's your turn...
...you had signed up for Nationals in Mesa, knowing the heat would be a health challenge, but couldn't stand the thought of missing out.
...you had rotten times in all of your events, because of lack of sleep from the heat left you wasted, but you had a blast anyway. :D
...you scratch your event on the last day of Nats. and don't even suit up, because your body is completely drained, but you can't wait to get to the pool, anyway, and cheer on your Forumite buddies. :cheerleader:
...you return home late at night after flying home from Nats., but can't wait to check in on the USMS Forums, before :bed:.
...you wake up the following morning and the first thing you say to your husband is, "I can't wait to get to the pool and SWIM!!!" :ohyeah:
...you return home late at night after flying home from Nats., but can't wait to check in on the USMS Forums, before :bed:.
Glad you made it home safe :)
Good gracious, enough with the whining about the heat. It is Arizona, in early May, the heat is a given and it wasn't even that hot Sat and Sun. Great meet, awesome pool, perfect weather.
you get up to go swim at 5am after working until midnight and clock-watching until 4am. finally, you are sleeping and the alarm to go swim rings. You get up and groggily go!! And. . . feel super-great afterwards and so very glad you did it!! Sleep??? they keep on writing about how much we need! And I crave it!! But it doesn't always happen. Go swimming anyway!!
Yeap, thanks for asking. A little girl.

Best birthday ever (my daughter's is the same day)!!! Congratulations!!!!
You've been keeping a log of your swim workouts for 32.5 yrs and you've averaged 18,000 yds/wk, 50 wks/yr, over the past 32.5 yrs. Also, you swam for 10 yrs before starting the logbook.
When you automatically buy ponytail holders on a monthly basis wihout remembering that you can wear your long hair down your back instead of pulled back and tucked under a cap.
