I was on two relays at USMS SCY Nationals that broke national records. I just received an email from Walt Reid asking me to send him a copy of my birth certificate and/or my passport to verify my age; which I understand having to verify the age. Before I send copies of my personal information I wanted to confirm that this is legit. I emailed him asking a couple questions but have not heard back.
Let me know...
Thanks!
I find it interesting that you do all the paperwork after the meet.
over here we the meet director takes a photocopy of the swimmers passports, all the forms for records are filled in, and signed by the meet director and head timer (person incharge of the timing system).
the only delay is getting the full meet results printed and signed as well.
So all of the swimmers bring their passports with them to the meet?
At our meets, I do all of the paperwork after the meet, get it signed, and submit it with the backup paperwork. We then notify the swimmers who don't have age verification on file. (With 1000 swimmers in a meet, I have no idea who is already on file.)
