Is Pan Pacs 'open' to other countries not in the region?
Yeah, my understanding is Pan Pacs us open to all countries that are not part of LEN (European swimming league).
I rather enjoyed the 1500m race.Yeah, it was nice to see Cochrane win. He's a fabulous distance guy who hasn't gotten enough 'cred at least south of the border. That was an impressive swim, but I was hoping that Mellouli and the guy from Korea had been in better form to watch a tighter race.
The way I read this morning's results, Phelps is swimming in the consol of the 400 IM tonight, assuming he doesn't scratch. When was the last time that happened?

If Phelps swims the consol tonight, then I owe myself a dollar. (will move it from left pocket to right pocket, I guess :dunno:)
Lochte is certainly an amazing swimmer, but I almost hate for him to win because his post-race interviews are so painful. Spicoli from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" anyone?
I actually like them because he shows more personality than most of the top swimmers in those interviews. Takes the transcripts of 10 of your typical national team interviews and a lot of them blur together in their sameness.
How about Rebecca Soni's 104.93 in 100m breaststroke? :applaud:
Meanwhile, will somebody pleeeeeeze put a muzzle on the mouth of that guy with the microphone in the stands??? I had enough of him during the U.S. Championships and now he's baaaaack. :bitching: The countdown gets old, doesn't it? :blah:
I rather enjoyed the 1500m race.
I enjoyed the 50 flys. :) Both Cielo and the 14 year old Kukla in the B final (25.99) had interesting strokes.
It was nice to see Ziegler back in form!
